"I have been doing hatha yoga for more than 17 years (& experienced Iyengar, Ashtanga, Scaravelli, Bikram, Dru, etc, yogas) & am British Wheel of Yoga trained as a hatha yoga teacher. I have attended 3 of Alison's classes & am experiencing a new positive awakening, rather as when I began yoga from scratch in 2000...only better. Thank you, god/the Cosmos for kindly fixing this for me. For anyone who does not believe in the latter, I recommend you fix a session with Alison for yourself. Tough but deeply beneficial yoga & a delightful, competent teacher."

"At first, I was unconvinced of the benefits of Yoga. I was looking for something to help me sleep better and cope with the pressures of modern life. Five years down the line I am a convert to Alison's gentle stretching and relaxation classes. My back is also much better and supple despite having quite a major operation on it."

"I really love this Yin Yoga - I always feel really good the next day both physically and emotionally”

"Being a young 62 year old, I have found Alison's classes have kept my body supple and my mind relaxed when needed. Alison is a very caring and confident teacher."

In our fast paced modern world we are often very busy and short of time. This constant running against the clock, maybe skipping meals or eating on the go, possibly short of sleep and not having enough time for ourselves, eventually takes its toll on our physical and mental health.
And we become out of balance – tired but wired and unable to relax and properly re charge our batteries often with elevated blood pressure or struggling with our weight and moods.
The practice of Yin Yoga is the chance to press the ‘pause’ button in our lives; with it’s long holds of 3 – 5 minutes, it gives us the gift of time to slow down and be still, to get back in touch with how we feel – physically, mentally and emotionally.
Yin Yoga is based on the ancient Chinese Taoist tradition that sees the world in complimentary opposites:
Stressed
Accelerator
Busy
Stimulation
Hot
Ambition
Wear and tear
Depleting
Active
Muscles

Sympathetic nervous system
Relaxed
